Radiographer, PhD and academic with almost 18 years of experience at the intersection of advanced cardiovascular imaging, AI and 3D printing. I bring innovation from research into both patient care and the education of the next generation of radiographers.
My clinical expertise spans cardiac CT and MRI, whole-body CT/MR angiography, emergency CT and vascular interventional radiology, with around 10,000 cardiac imaging procedures and a long-standing role as software administrator of advanced post-processing platforms.
I hold a PhD in Molecular Medicine (University of Parma, 2025, "Excellent cum Laude") and a double Italian National Scientific Qualification as Associate Professor (sector 06/N1, valid 2034). Since 2015 I have been Director of Clinical Education for the Bachelor's Degree in Radiography at the University of Parma across three consecutive mandates, and I direct a Level I Master's in Computed Tomography.
My research focuses on cardiac CT/MRI optimisation, peripheral arterial disease, patient-specific 3D-printed models for endovascular surgery, and AI/deep-learning for ECG and image analysis. I am Principal Investigator of the SPARK project (Italian Ministry of Health, Young Researchers 2024, €450,000) and Co-Investigator of a previous Ministry of Health grant on 3D-printed models for balloon angioplasty (2019).
𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 (𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲): 148 publications (Scopus/WoS indexed); H-index 30 (Scopus/WoS), 33 (Google Scholar); i10-index 61; over 3,500 Google Scholar citations (Scopus/WoS); four international awards, including the ESC-CinC Clinical Needs Translational Award (2020), GORE Top Poster (SICVE 2022), VAM Chicago International Poster Competition (2024), and SICVE Comunicazioni Top (2024).
Beyond research and teaching, I am Guest Editor of six MDPI Special Issues in Diagnostics and Journal of Clinical Medicine, Section Board Member of Diagnostics, a verified Web of Science peer reviewer, founder and President of AITeRTC (Italian Association of CT and X-Ray Radiographers), Vice-President of the TSRM Commission in Parma, and the Italian reference for CT within the EFRS Radiographer Research Network. I lecture internationally as External Visiting Lecturer (University of Malta, 2026; University of South-Eastern Norway, 2025 & 2018) and present regularly at ECR, RSNA, ESC and EFRS meetings.
I am driven by one goal: translating technological innovation — AI, spectral CT and 3D printing — into safer, more precise and more sustainable imaging, and into the training of the radiographers of tomorrow.
